Quoin + Revel (‏@revelseattle) in Seattle.

Our friends, Seif Chirchi and Rachel Yang, own both Quoin + Revel in addition to their tremendously delicious restaurant, Joule. They are a power duo in the Seattle culinary scene. They are also semi-finalists for the 2012 James Beard award! We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for you two on March 19!

Before sitting down for a meal at Revel, we had a few drinks and WAY affordable appetizers at the bar. Last Orders From Moscow, gin, vodka, lime, marschino + the handcrafed and local, Rachel’s Ginger Beer ($9); Afternoon Revival with gin, Cointreau, lemon, Lillet, absinthe, Prosecco ($10); Kimchi with daikon and pear ($3); Country Pate with green curry and bread ($4).

We left the ordering up to Chef Seif. We indulged in: Corned lamb tossed in with mizuna and spicy nuoc cham ($9); Pork belly pancake filled with kimchi and bean sprouts ($10); Shrimp and bacon dumplings with pickled ginger + cilantro and house-made sauces ($9); Rice bowl with egg yolk, short rib, sambai daikon and mustard greens ($14); Dungeness crab with seaweed noodle bowl, spicy red curry and creme fraiche ($16).

For dessert: cacao panna cotta with chili pineapple gelee, and thai basil ($7); Earl Grey chocolate mousse, blood orange, candied orange peel ($7).

It was a truly delectable experience. We were so full — we walked all the way back to The Neptune for Damien Jurado's CD release show. If you're ever in Seattle, these three restaurants are a must for dinner (and drinks)! Seth and I cannot wait to come back and try the other dishes!
