Oh wow, @LulaCafe. Damn good (w. photos).

For my birthday, we trekked over to Logan Square to dine on some of the most flavorful plates in the city. Thanks to Jorge, our waiter, and Chef (and cousin!) Hunter for the extra special night. Everything was bangin'!

Starters: crispy suckling pig w/ smoked eel, sea beans, cherry mostarda + mondadori balsamico ($16), gulf prawns w/ house cured lonzino, ramp kimchi + white corn fritters ($12), rosehip and hibiscus soda, with an order of over wintered carrot soup w/ basil, espelette, hominy + goat butter biscuit ($9).

Our meals: spring goat crepinette  w/ fava beans, semolina gnocchi, cilantro + stinging nettle pesto ($26), chickpea + sweet potato tagine w/ arugula, cinnamon, harissa + cous cous ($9), pan roasted duck breast + garlic sausage w/ artichokes, pearl onions, carrots, borage + green garlic ($22).

Finished with the oh so delectable goat milk panna cotta w/ blood orange caramel, lime, almond + dates ($9).
