La comida is lunch.

Ylang Ylang is a sophisticated, yet cheesy, hippie dippy, but somehow hipster resort on the very North end of town. It's pretty pricey and you can only access the hotel by walking down on the beach. We were parked on the sand outside its "doors" for a few hours and decided to take a break from the sun in its restaurant.

Gluten-free, vegan nachos for Marissa with Logan peeking out from behind the garnish: black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo on homemade tortillas chips ($10); a namaste roll for Ben: oriental style rice paper rolls stuffed with avocado, lettuce, vegetables served with a toasted sesame oil dressing ($12); tsunami maki roll for Tristan: smoked salmon with fresh tuna, avocado, surimi (artificial crab), and cucumber wrapped with avocado and topped with unagi (eel) sauce ($15); I ordered vegetarian casados which is a typical Costa Rican meal: mixed vegetables, pico de gallo over lettuce + cucumber slices with black beans, brown rice, and 1/2 avocado with 3 fried plantains ($12).
